Muraho from Rwanda

Muraho!

We have finally made it to Byumba after two long flights and a beautiful two-hour drive. This morning, we visited the Genocide Memorial and were all touched. The hundreds of thousands of people killed really made us take a step back and realize how lucky we are to live the way we do.

After this, we took a short drive to the PEACE offices where we met our translators and an awesome man named Moses. After we were briefed, we headed for Byumba. After the drive, the first thing we did after settling in our rooms was to go to a Rwandan Wedding. It was very different because when they offer you something, you have to take it otherwise it is considered in some ways disrespectful. After this, they asked us to go to the front and dance. After the wedding, we went to dinner and had rice, meat, steak fries, and tree tomatoes. The food is great and tastes delicious. Now, we are all debriefing and really learning how God is using us and what he has in store for the rest of the trip.

P.S. Hey Mr. Caldwell! I hope you aren’t missing me too much in TA (haha).
